FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I HAVE TO PAY TO JUST TRY IT OUT?

NO! We give new players a few weeks to try out Gaelic Sports and get to know the club before signing up if that's what you want to do. Feel free to come by any of our training sessions or games listed on our events page, or on our calendar and we can get you playing, practicing and learning.

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY?

Our club was founded with the intent of spreading Gaelic games to new audiences. We are all learning every day how to play ourselves. You will be in good company.

At each practice, we take the time to teach the fundamentals of the game to new members, including a great group of coaches and experienced players who know how to teach the game from the bottom up.

I DON'T OWN ANY GAELIC SPORTS EQUIPMENT...

We have a variety club equipment for people to borrow when learning. To get started all you need is activewear (t-shirt & shorts) and a pair of shoes you can run in, cleats are highly recommended. Many of our players also invest in a set of shin guards as used for soccer or lacrosse. We continue to keep the initial costs as low as possible to encourage more participation in these crazy addicting sports!

CAN I BRING FRIENDS OR MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER?

Yes! This is a multi-gender club sport. We want a diverse and hungry group of players. The club only gets better and stronger faster the more players we bring into the fold with us.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

WHERE AND WHEN DO YOU PLAY?

In the summer we play on Aardvark field in Henrietta on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm. Our Summer Season is typically from early April through August and includes league play in the Midwest Division of the USGAA.  During the winter season, we host recreational play and training at Total Sports Experience (TSE) in East Rochester on Wednesdays from 8-9:30 pm. In addition to that, we also offer more focused skills training on Sunday mornings during the winter season at The Athletic Campus in Brighton. Hurling is from 9 to 10 am and Gaelic Football is from 10 to 11 am.
